D.O.Z. It Works For Me! I am a twenty-five-year-old male that has been taking D.O.Z., a nighttime sleeping aid, for almost two months now. I have discovered this product to be quite helpful in my sleep, and also with my daily activities.

First of all, let me explain my situation. Approximately three years ago, I was diagnosed with a sleeping disorder called Narcolepsy. Well, here goes; Narcolepsy is defined as a chemical imbalance involving the neuro-sensory part of the brain that controls sleep cycles, both mental and physical alertness, and muscular relaxation when the body rests (sleep paralysis). A person with narcolepsy will usually be able to fall asleep whenever the brain sends a message that it needs rest. With a normal healthy individual, this happens at night and on a regular basis. For myself, with narcolepsy, I will have sleep attacks all throughout the day as well as night. Any activity that is not remotely physical (ex. Reading, driving, watching TV, sitting or standing in one place for more than five minutes, eating, talking) will result in an uncontrollable need to sleep. Often, I will fall asleep in a matter of a minute or so, and the nap will last anywhere from a couple of minutes, to a few hours or more. Speaking of sleep cycles, almost every time I do fall asleep, I will immediately fall straight into R.E.M. or Rapid Eye Movement sleep, which is the deepest, most restful sleep a person could have. Since I do not encounter any other sleep cycles, I do not wake up very easily, nor am I a light sleeper. I rarely hear alarm clocks quieter than a train whistle, and am rarely on time because of this.

This whole testimonial may sound like an info-mercial for narcolepsy, but I am trying to explain the severity of this sleep disorder, and the similarities with the more common sleep disorder, Sleep Apnea. Sleep Apnea is a condition where your airway becomes blocked off when you are sleeping. Resulting in coughing or choking to restore your breathing before you die of suffocation. This action by the body interrups your R.E.M. sleep to the point of waking for a moment, just to fall back to sleep almost instantaneously. The result, a restless night of sleep.
