Deep Water Running Exercise Upper Body Flies:
This deep water running exercise alternative allows you to change
the movement pattern your upper body while still benefiting from
deep water running with the AQx Sports deep water running shoe.
This is an excellent overall deep water running exercise for chest,
upper back, and shoulder development as well as lower body and cardiovascular
benefits.
Deep Water Running Exercise Upper Body Flies Key Points:
- The water should be at shoulder level below the chin with the head held in a neutral position facing forward.
- The body can lean slightly forward of a vertical position, but straight up and down (vertical) is fine too. Just remember not to lean back!
- The arm carriage should start with your hands straight out from your shoulders with your palms facing forward. Push hard against the water as you bring your hands (like clapping your hands) together straight out in front of your chest. This will work the chest and front of your shoulders. Turn your hands over so that the palms are moving through the water first again and return (backwards) to slightly past the original position to work your upper back and shoulders. While the upper body is completing the flying motion, the lower body should be completing DWR with the AQx.
