Resist-a-ball (exercise ball)
What is an Exercise Ball? An exercise ball such
as a Resist-A-Ball is an inflatable heavy-duty exercise ball made
of the highest quality vinyl to endure repeated class use. A Exercise
ball, also known as a stability ball, was introduced in 1909 by
Dr. Susanne Klein-Vogelbach in the circle of physical therapy. Exercise
balls and exercise ball exercises were first used with children
afflicted with cerebral palsy to develop balance and maintain reflex
response, the value of the ball was then extended to spinal injuries
and other orthopedic problems.
Exercise Ball - In 1992, Mike and Stephanie Morris,
the developers of the Resist-A-Ball exercise ball program, were
introduced to the stability ball. They immediately realized the
potential this inexpensive tool could offer their personal training
clients. They went on to develop a total body conditioning program
using the Resist-A-Ball exercise ball. Since then, the Resist-A-Ball
exercise ball product and program has been rolling into homes and
fitness facilities all across the world.
This Maxafe textured exercise ball is the most
durable ball for the home and professional setting. The Maxafe exercise
ball is very effective for resistance, flexibility, and interval
training. Resist-A-Ball exercise balls (Maxafe) are used in the
Olympics and by many sport conditioning programs, Rehabs, aerobics
and by personal trainers - big time! Resist-a-ball exercise balls
are made of the highest quality vinyl to endure repeated class use
and have been tested to support over 600 Lbs! Unstable exercising
with an exercise ball builds and tones muscle fast!
Exercise Balls - What is especially significant
to bodybuilders, is that this actually is the most excellent way
to make any exercise unstable. Performing an unstabilized exercise
(click here for some demonstrations) forces the muscles to work
in ways in which it is not used to, therefore, many smaller muscles
also benefit from trying to stabilize the motion. Exercising with
the use of this ball is able to increase muscle tone, balance, coordination,
focuses on abdominal and back muscles, great for chest training,
and also offers great resistance training. This means - Major increases
in muscle mass.

"Swiss Ball training thanks largely to sports
physical therapist Paul Chek and myself has become more widespread,
but by no means is it either popular or well known, yet. Give it
a few months or years, though. In the meantime, you can start using
this highly-evolved training method immediately and get a head start
on everyone else" Strength Coach, Charles Poliquin,
1998.
"In 15 years of training clients, I have found
there is no exercise tool that can match the versatility of the
Resist-A-Ball" Mike Morris, creator of Resist-A-Ball
"The safety/success of any exercise endeavor
is dependent upon strong stabilizers and proper biomechanical technique.
Resist-A-Ball's program utilizes the biomechanical principles of
stabilization training along with sound resistance training techniques
to finally create an effective state-of-the-art tool for fitness"
Tom Purvis of F.A.C.T.
"Resist-A-Ball is a fantastic tool for all resistance
and stretching exercises. I always find a way to incorporate the
ball into my circuit and step training classes because, not only
is it a fun alternative to the same old resistance training exercise,
but my classes can't get enough" Gin Miller, Aerobic
Instructor.
