Detoxing Juice Fast | Vegetable Juice Fast
Vegetable Juice Fast Detox
What You’ll Need:
*Organic vegetables to make juice from. Ideally, it should be mostly
leafy greens, but it can include a small amount of carrots, celery,
romaine lettuce, spinach, zucchini, kale etc. Since making your
own juice is quite time consuming, I opted for Odwalla's organic
Super Food juice found at my local grocer, and it is quite pleasant
tasting! I would additionally add a teaspoon of the GreensFirst to at least 3 of my glasses of juice for the day's total. Or, if
you are on the run, you can find a juice bar and get a shot of wheat
grass from places such as Wild Oats and Whole Foods. Trust me, these
green drinks look worse than they taste!
* Filtered drinking water with added Lyte
CL Solution.
* Optional - a Juicer. However, if this is your first time attempting
a Juice fast/Detox program, I suggest saving your money and buying
one for under $50.00 if you are mind set to do this from scratch.
Then, if you find yourself really getting into juicing, you can
upgrade to a more sophiscated machine which will better suit your
long term needs. But, for right now, just something cheap will do
the trick.
I keep stressing organic vegetables and filtered water because
regular vegetables are chemically farmed and/or genetically engineered,
and only 1% of municipal tap water in the US is suitable for drinking!
This is one of the reasons our health is on the decline and why
we have to detox our bodies despite thinking we are living a healthy
lifestyle.
Let's Begin:The primary goal for doing a detox
is to remove the toxins caused by diet, medications and environmental
factors ingested into our bodies. It is ideal to stop taking all
of your supplements while doing a fasting program such as a Juice
Detox. If you are taking any medications, you should wait until
you are finished the course of the medication first, then proceed
with a Juice fast/Detox. Please refer to the disclaimer at the end
of this article to be fully informed to help you decide if this
is something for you or not.
Let's Continue: If you want, you can ease into
the Juice fasting Detox by first spending a few days on a fruit
and vegetable diet, consuming ONLY uncooked organic fruits and vegetables
for anywhere from 1 to 5 days. Some individuals never get beyond
this point because after eating high-quality, natural organic fruits
and vegetables for a few days is enough for them to start feeling
better, and they do not find a need to go further. However, I found
this harder to do then just throwing myself into the fast itself.
I'm Blood type O, which coincides with being a big meat eater so
I just wanted to get this over with as fast as I could! Obviously,
everyone is different and your body will let you know which it prefers.
If you never have been a liquid diet such as a Juice fast/Detox,
plan on at least doing this from anywhere from 1 to 3 days. Others
perhaps with some experience, can aim for 5 days. While doing this
Juice fast/Detox you cannot eat anything solid, so when you feel
hungry, you will instead slowly sip a glass of vegetable juice.
Actually, "chewing", yes, chewing, will help salivate the juice
and help you to feel more satisfied. Every time you get hungry,
have some juice but aim for trying to get by on as minimal as you
can tolerate for each day.
One trick which helped me immensely, was to drink Lyte CL Solution
(mixed to your taste preference) with filtered water every time
I felt the empty hunger feeling creep up. This keeps your electrolytes
optimal and energy levels from diminishing. I also found that it
helped fill me up and the need to drink as much juice wasn't as
demanding. Most people generally report feeling exhausted from not
eating - this wasn't the case at all with the Lyte CL Solution!
As a matter of fact, I was able to do this for 9 days for my first
time ever. Damn right I'm proud of myself, and quite frankly, I
was quite surprised that I was able to do it and on how well I felt
for doing so! Granted, I now much prefer doing all of this within
30 mins with a FIR
sauna because it is so much easier to pull off in regards to
both time and effort!
Consequently, no one can starve to death by consuming juices for
a few days. Not even me, who can shamelessly usually eats two double
doubles with cheese, vanilla shake and fries at In and Out. You
may or may not feel hungry during your days of juice dieting. Hunger
is very individualized, but most people report that their hunger
goes away after three days. However, all hunger completely disappears
once the body shifts to it's built-in-fat burning metabolism and
starts living off its own stores. Yep, that's right, not only is
this a great way to detox, but you are also burning unwanted bodyfat!
As I previously indicated, everyone carries a different level of
toxicity, and each of our bodies deals with it in a different manner.
In general, if you are very toxic, when you are detoxing you may
experience some cold or flu-like symptoms such as a headache, runny
nose, tiredness, fever and so on. Know that this is just part of
the process as your body is unloading.
DO NOT resort to taking anything to ease these symptoms! They will
go away within a few days, simply rest as much as you can, take
it in stride and know that you will feel better then ever only within
a mere 3 days! The longer you can do the fast obviously, the more
successful the amount of detoxing will take place and your health
and wellbeing will be in a better state.
SUMMARY: Drink nothing but this vegetable juice
and mentioned water for 1 to 3, to 1 to 5 days.
